While it the External Expert Review panel is still finalizing its recommendations to the PHAC, pausing the work of the Canadian Task Force on Preventative Health Care gives me reason to hope for the Task Force and its processes to be entirely redone for the safety of all Canadians. I am proud to be one of the many, many voices that has advocated at all levels of government to get this far. Even when you don’t think it’s effective, repeat after me:

For more context leading up to the Minister of Health’s statement, you can read one of my earlier blog posts Footnote 51: Using my voice for change.
Since being diagnosed with cancer, I haven’t stopped advocating for better cancer care, advocating for better screening for all cancers, pushing for increased cancer research investments and including the patients in development. This isn’t a paying job. It’s about using my story to push for policy changes. If you also think that my voice counts, feel free to buy me a coffee (or a full buffet) so I can stay caffeinated have the energy to continue.
